Coaching Packages - Geared to Stages of Recruitment Process

Stage 1

The process starts at the CV or, alternatively (depending on the employer) the online application form. These forms are processed by machines using artificial intelligence, not people using judgement. The computers are programmed to score the CV/online application based on set criteria. If you don’t use the right words or give the right answers your application will fail at the first hurdle. Stage 2

Stage 2 for many of the top employers is to use Telephone Interviewing as another “screen them out” process. Employers love this stage because it is cheap and can be outsourced to a third party. Being interviewed on the telephone is rather like speaking to a call centre except that this time they can stop your potential career in its tracks. If you haven’t been trained in telephone interview techniques you will be at a disadvantage. You need to learn the skills.

Stage 3

If you have been successful so far, the next stage (depending on the prospective employer) is either the Assessment Centre or a face to face interview. Because of the cost of running Assessment Centres some businesses prefer to screen applicants out at interview. Others take the view that it makes better use of their senior executives' time if the Assessment Centre is run first and only those who succeed there are interviewed by the top people.

All the ‘blue-chip’ companies use face to face interviews that are “criteria based”. This means that the questions will have been developed by psychologists to identify particular behaviours that the ‘blue-chip’ has found to be displayed by its most successful people. These behaviours may relate to things like interpersonal skills, ethics, results orientation, problem solving etc. There is a ‘right way’ to answer these questions and that is what we will teach you.

Package 4 – Face to Face Interview Skills (3Hrs) - £400.00

For many people being interviewed by someone we don’t know can be stressful and it can bring out nervous reactions in our speech or body language. So, face to face practice and on-camera feedback can be invaluable as it mirrors the real life interview. For example, if we can see and hear ourselves on film using the (inappropriate for business) ‘cool’ language and gestures of our social group we can do something about it.

Package 5 – On-Camera Interview Skills (3Hrs) - £550.00

  • Video taped review of interview performance

The above coaching packages are extremely helpful for face to face interviews, but are unfortunately not a substitute for Assessment Centre training.
